With a view, you put together a selection of your holdings across your portfolios. Parqet shows the selection like a separate portfolio: with a dashboard, analytics, dividends and activities. Your portfolios and activities stay unchanged.
Custom views and most filters are available with a Plus or Investor subscription. You can filter by sub-account with any plan.
What is a view?
A view is a saved filter. You decide which holdings belong to it. These filters are available:
Portfolio: one, several or all portfolios. Use the arrow next to a portfolio to select individual sub-accounts.
Asset class: what you invest in, for example Stock, Bond, Cash or Commodity
Product type: how you invest, for example Stock, ETF, ETC or Fund
Holding: individual holdings, up to 200. Cash holdings and sold holdings are in the list too.
Status: active or sold holdings
Tag: all holdings with a specific tag. You see this filter once you have assigned tags.
If you combine several filters, the view only shows holdings that match all filters. If you select several tags, the view shows all holdings with at least one of these tags.
On the web, you'll find the filters at the top next to the search field under “Add filter”. An active filter appears there as a field, for example “Asset classes: 7”. Click “×” to remove it. Tip: On the web, the V key opens the list of your portfolios and views. F adds a filter, S opens the “Save” menu.
The Overview is a view too. It contains all your portfolios, including new ones. You can rename, filter, share and delete it. If you delete all views, Parqet creates the Overview again.
The difference between asset class and product type is explained in the article Asset class and product type: What's the difference?
Create a view
New view on the web:
Open “Portfolios & views” in the sidebar.
Click “New” next to “Views”.
Enter a name.
Select the currency.
Select the visibility “Private” or “Public”.
Click “Save view”.
In the new view, click “Add filter” and select your filters.
Click “Save” at the top right.
From a portfolio or an existing view:
Open the portfolio or the view.
Click “Add filter” and select your filters.
Open the “Save” menu at the top right.
Click “Save as new view”.
In the app for iOS and Android, you can switch, filter and create views. If you don't see any views, update the app.
Edit a view
Open the view.
Change the filters.
Open the “Save” menu at the top right.
Click “Save”. Click “Reset” to discard your changes.
Parqet saves the filters in your account. That's why you also see them in the app. If you don't save, the filter is gone the next time you open the page.
You change the name, currency and visibility via the “Settings” gear icon at the top right of the view. You change the order of your portfolios and views under “Portfolios & views” by drag and drop. You set visibility, sharing and order on the web, not in the app.
If you filter in a portfolio and click “Save”, Parqet saves the filter in this portfolio. A new view is only created with “Save as new view”.
Share a view
Open the view.
Click the share icon next to the gear icon at the top right.
Click “Make public”.
Copy the link.
Anyone who opens the link only sees the holdings in your view. Your tags are visible in public views too.
Delete a view
Open the view.
Click the “Settings” gear icon at the top right.
Click “Delete view” at the bottom.
Confirm the deletion.
Parqet only deletes the view. Your portfolios, holdings and activities are kept.
Hide holdings, for example an instant-access savings account
Example: Your broker's Autosync adds an instant-access savings account as a cash holding with €75,000. You want to see your brokerage account without this account.
All filters select what is in the view. There is no “everything except” filter. So you hide a holding by selecting everything else. You have three options:
Option 1: Hide only this one holding
Open the portfolio.
Click “Add filter” and select “Holding”.
Check all holdings except the instant-access savings account.
Open the “Save” menu and click “Save as new view”.
IMPORTANT: The holding filter only contains the holdings you checked. If you buy a new security later, it is missing from the view. In that case, open the view, check the new holding and click “Save”. The view automatically includes additional buys of checked holdings.
Option 2: Hide all cash
Open the portfolio.
Click “Add filter” and select “Asset class”.
Check all asset classes except Cash.
Open the “Save” menu and click “Save as new view”.
This option hides all cash holdings, including your reference account. Money market ETFs also belong to the asset class Cash. New securities appear here automatically.
Option 3: Hide a sub-account
If the account is in its own sub-account, select all other sub-accounts in the “Sub-account” filter. This works with any plan. Not every account is its own sub-account. Learn more: How do I hide sub-accounts?
Effect on the key metrics
Parqet calculates each view only with the holdings in the view. This applies to all values and key metrics:
Portfolio value, invested capital, gains and dividends
Return, TTWROR (true time-weighted rate of return) and IRR (internal rate of return)
Charts and analytics, for example allocation and returns table
A hidden holding is missing from the entire period, not only from today on. You select the period as usual on top of that.
Example: Your portfolio has €153,000 in securities and €75,000 in the instant-access savings account. The portfolio shows €228,000. The view without the instant-access savings account shows €153,000. Parqet calculates the view's return, TTWROR and IRR only with the securities.
The portfolio itself still shows all holdings. The view doesn't change any data. How cash affects performance is explained in the article How does the reference account affect performance? The difference between return and TTWROR is explained in Return vs. TTWROR.
Known bugs: If Autosync only adds a cash holding via the holdings sync, the TTWROR jumps on that day. With a tag filter and the period “Since buy”, the TTWROR shows incorrect values. We know about both bugs and are working on them.
Availability by plan
Basic: one portfolio, no custom views. Filtering by sub-account works. All other filters are not available.
Plus: up to 5 views, all filters
Investor: up to 20 views, all filters
The Overview counts toward the limit. So with a Plus subscription, you have the Overview and 4 more views.
If you switch to a smaller plan, Parqet doesn't delete any views. Views above the limit are locked. Parqet keeps your oldest views unlocked. You can delete locked views or unlock them again with an upgrade.
Common questions
I can't find the views.
On the web, you'll find them in the sidebar under “Portfolios & views”. In the app, they only appear with the current app version. Update the app in the App Store or Play Store.
My view “Stocks” also shows ETFs.
A stock ETF belongs to the asset class Stock. If you want to separate ETFs and individual stocks, filter by product type instead of asset class.
A new security is missing from my view.
Your view uses the holding filter. It only shows checked holdings. Check the new security and click “Save”.
I checked a holding, but it's still missing.
The holding doesn't match another filter of the view. Example: A money market ETF belongs to the asset class Cash. If you also filter by the asset classes Stock and Bond, the money market ETF is missing. Check all filters of the view.
My filter is gone after a restart.
You didn't save the filter. After filtering, click “Save” or “Save as new view”.
Can I delete an account from my Autosync portfolio?
No. Autosync adds all accounts you see with your login at the broker. This also applies to instant-access savings accounts and accounts you have power of attorney for. Hide the account in a view, as described above.
Where can I see all my portfolios side by side?
Open “Portfolios & views” in the sidebar. There you see each portfolio and each view with its value and return for the selected period.
Can I compare views with each other?
Yes. In the performance chart, select a view under “Compare with...”.
The button for Autosync or import is missing.
You are in a view, for example in the Overview. Open the portfolio. You'll find the button there.
The view's value or return differs from the portfolio.
The view only calculates with its holdings. Check the view's filters and the period. Always compare web and app with the same period and the same portfolios.
How do I see two of five portfolios together?
Create a view. Select the two portfolios in the “Portfolio” filter.
My view is locked.
You have more views than your plan allows. Delete a view or switch to a bigger plan.
Does a view change my data?
No. A view doesn't copy or move anything. Your portfolios and activities stay as they are.
