Position stays in the dashboard with a small remainder after a sale

Written by Niklas Klamm

If you’ve sold a security completely, it appears in the dashboard under “Sold securities”.

If a very small remainder is left after a sale (less than 0.001 shares and less than 1 cent invested), Parqet still counts the security as sold. This often happens with savings plans that buy fractional shares.

If the remainder is larger, the position stays open. Example: Through a savings plan, you had 20.0035 Unilever shares, and you enter a sale of 20 shares. Then you still have 0.0035 shares in Parqet.

On the holding’s page, you can see how many shares are left:

If Parqet rounds the number in the display, there’s an (i) next to it. Hover over it with your mouse to see the exact number. Clicking the number copies it.

Selling all shares

Create a new sell activity for this security. Next to the “Shares” field, you can see how many shares you have. If you click this number (here: 0.0035), Parqet enters it in the field. After you save, the security appears under “Sold securities”.
