My PDF can’t be imported. What can I do?

Why the file import fails and what helps, in which order

Written by Niklas Klamm

If the import fails: contact us

If you have the right document and the import still fails, the fastest way forward is for us to see the file.

  1. Check that Data Import: PDF/CSV/Manual is selected as the category

  2. Under Affected Portfolios and Views, select the portfolio you wanted to import into

  3. In the Problem Description, write which broker it is, which document you wanted to import and which message appears

  4. Add the file under Attachments — unedited, please, exactly as you downloaded it from your broker

The attachment field is marked as optional, but in this case it’s the most important part: with the file, we can see right away where the import gets stuck, and we adjust it. PDF, CSV, Excel and text files are accepted.

The rest of this article covers the cases you can check yourself first.

Your broker changed its file format

This is the most common cause when an import worked before and suddenly stops working. Banks and brokers change their export formats regularly, usually without notice. After that, our import no longer recognizes the file until we’ve adjusted it.

How to recognize this case:

  • The message says “This document is not supported yet,” even though your broker is on the list of supported brokers.

  • You exported the file directly from your broker and didn’t change it.

  • Earlier files from the same broker could be imported.

Then it’s not a mistake on your end. You don’t need to edit the file in Excel — on the contrary, that makes it harder for our import to recognize it. Send it to us unchanged via our contact form with the category Data Import: PDF/CSV/Manual, and we’ll adjust the import.

Example: In August 2026, Trading 212 changed the format of its CSV exports. Imports failed with “This document is not supported yet,” even though the files were exported exactly as described in our Trading 212 guide (in German). We adjusted the import; it has been working again since then.

Consorsbank: PDFs from the Consorsbank app

Our import can’t read PDFs that you download in the Consorsbank app (mobile order archive). The reason is a bug in the Consorsbank app: it makes the files unreadable.

Instead, download the same documents in your browser on the Consorsbank website. You can import these files as usual. The bug doesn’t affect Consorsbank Autosync.

Is it the right document?

You can read which brokers and banks we support here. We usually support buy, sell and dividend statements as PDFs. For some brokers we only support individual PDF statements, for others only the CSV export of all activities — it varies from broker to broker. So take a quick look at which file is the right one for your broker.

Two special cases:

  • Holdings lists such as brokerage account overviews or holdings statements are partly accepted, but usually aren’t useful: they only contain your holdings, not individual buys and sells. Your portfolio is then shown incompletely, and if you import a second holdings list, Parqet books the holdings in again. Brokerage account statements that list your transactions, for example from WeltSparen or Growney, aren’t affected.

  • ZIP files need to be unzipped before you import them. Archives that haven’t been unzipped can’t be read.

Importing on your phone: there’s no drag and drop

On your smartphone, you can’t drag files into the dashboard. Instead:

  1. Open your portfolio

  2. Tap the plus at the bottom right

  3. Select File import (PDF/CSV)

  4. Tap Select files and choose the file

Bonds: price as a percentage, quantity as face value

For bonds, the price is quoted as a percentage, not in euros. In Parqet, each bond is assigned a currency, which is also used for the activity. So when you add a bond manually or correct an imported activity, enter:

  • Price = the percentage from your statement (e.g., 102.50 for 102.50%)

  • Shares = the face value (e.g., 1000 for €1,000 nominal)

The form calculates the amount from this itself. Do not change the quantity to reach a matching total — otherwise the position will be wrong.

Your broker isn’t supported

Then you can adapt your broker’s export file to our general CSV format with Excel or Google Sheets — you can find a guide here (in German).

Alternatively, enter your portfolio manually: plus button at the bottom right, then add one activity after another. With Save and create more at the top right of the activity form, this is much faster.

It still doesn’t work

Contact us via our contact form with the category Data Import: PDF/CSV/Manual and attach the file — that way it reaches the colleagues who adjust the import. This step does not book the security into your portfolio.

If you get the error that there are activities without prices, this article (in German) helps.

For all other questions, you can reach us via our contact form.
