Trades: realized gains, top trades and loss trades

Written by Niklas Klamm

The trade analysis is available with a Plus or Investor subscription.

Under “Trades”, you see how much gain or loss you made with sells, month by month, and which sells went best and worst.

Where do I find the trades?

  1. Open your portfolio, a view or the Overview.

  2. Click “Analysis” in the sidebar.

  3. Open the “Trades” tab.

Realized gains per month

A chart and a table show the realized gains and losses from your sells per month. The table is structured like the one for capital flow: “Total” per year, “Avg.” per month, “Σ” across all years, and “Q” and “M” to switch.

Realized means: sale proceeds minus the original purchase price of the shares sold, excluding fees and taxes. Which shares count as sold depends on your portfolio’s calculation method (FIFO, LIFO or average cost method).

Top trades and loss trades

Trade analysis in Parqet with the filter, top trades and loss trades

  • Top trades: your sells with a gain, largest first.

  • Loss trades: your sells with a loss, largest first.

  • Each list shows up to 20 sells. For each sell, you see the date, the holding period, and the realized gain or loss in euros and in percent. The percentage refers to the purchase price of the shares sold.

With the filter above the lists, you set:

  • By relative return: sorts by percent instead of euros.

  • Holding: shows only the sells of one position.

  • Period: shows only sells from a certain point in time, for example “1 year” or “Since buy”.

The filter only affects the two lists, not the chart and the table. Parqet remembers your setting.

What doesn’t count as a trade?

  • Transfers out (for example a brokerage account transfer) don’t create a realized gain and don’t appear here.

  • Sells with exactly €0 gain are missing from the lists.

  • Canceled sells don’t count.
