Analysis by company size

Written by Niklas Klamm

In Analysis, you can break down your portfolio by the size of the companies it contains. This shows you at a glance how much you’re invested in mega caps, large caps, mid caps, small caps and micro caps. You can also see whether your portfolio leans toward blue chips or smaller companies.

Where can I find the analysis?

The analysis is available with a Plus or Investor subscription. Open your portfolio and go to Analysis → Allocation. In the “More allocations” section, select the “Company size” tab. The pie chart assigns all securities in your portfolio to the size categories. You can also see the thresholds under “Classification” on the right below the chart.

How is company size classified?

The classification is based on each company’s market capitalization (market value). We use the following categories:

  • Mega Cap – from €200 billion

  • Large Cap – from €10 billion

  • Mid Cap – from €2.5 billion

  • Small Cap – from €250 million

  • Micro Cap – below €250 million

  • Other – if no classification is possible, for example for bonds

Market capitalization changes constantly with the share price. That’s why the classifications are updated regularly – so a security can move between categories over time if its market value changes significantly.

How are ETFs and funds classified?

Parqet splits ETFs and funds according to the stocks they hold. For example, if 70% of your ETF is in mega caps, that share counts toward Mega Cap. Only the part that Parqet can’t assign to a size appears under Other in the analysis.

What counts as “Other”, and what’s left out entirely?

Other shows securities without a classification, for example bonds.

Cryptocurrencies, precious metals and cash don’t appear in this analysis. The percentages refer only to the value of your securities, which is why the center of the chart says “Securities”.
