The Parqet web app at a glance

In this article we give you a rough overview of the features Parqet offers and where to find them

Written by Niklas Klamm

Dashboard

The dashboard is Parqet’s standard portfolio view. It gives you an overview of your portfolio(s). In the sidebar on the left you’ll find other sections of the Parqet app, which are all explained in more detail below.

At a glance

Portfolio dashboard with the sidebar, the header with key figures, the value development chart and the performance chart, marked 1 to 4

A quick explanation of what you see right at the top:

  1. (At the top, next to the search field) Use “Add filter” to filter by sub-account (in German), asset class, product type, holding, status and tag. Filtering by sub-account works in every plan. All other filters are available with a Plus or Investor subscription. You choose the time period at the top right. Parqet calls saved filters views. More on this: Views (in German).

  2. (Top right) Directly below, you’ll find a short summary of your price gains, the dividends you received and your realized gains in the selected period. To the right of that, your internal rate of return (IRR) is shown. You can roughly think of it as your annual return.

  3. (Left side) This chart shows your portfolio’s value development as a dark line and the capital you’ve contributed to the portfolio as a light line.
At the top of this chart you can also switch to the drawdown (in German), which shows how far your portfolio has fallen from its peak. Please note that this feature is only available with a Plus or Investor subscription.
Instead, you can also show an overview of your dividends. They appear per month or quarter, along with your average monthly dividends over the last 12 months and over the whole period as a light line and a dashed line:

Dividends tab of the dashboard chart: monthly dividends as stacked bars with two average lines

  4. (Right side) This is the performance chart. It shows your portfolio’s performance, and you can decide whether to include realized gains and dividends or only the price gains of currently active positions. With a Plus or Investor subscription, you can also switch the return calculation at the top right of the chart from the default capital-weighted return to the time-weighted return, TTWROR (true time-weighted rate of return). The differences between the two calculations are explained in more detail here.

If you use a lower-resolution screen or a laptop, you may see only one chart instead of two:

Single chart on a smaller screen with the tabs Value development, Performance, Drawdown and Dividends

  5. In that case, use the “menu bar” above the chart to switch to the “Performance” view and see your performance.

Returns table and activity overview

Dashboard columns: returns table, latest activities and top movers

In the left column you’ll find the returns table, an overview of your portfolio’s key figures for the selected period. It shows all figures for your entire portfolio, meaning all your holdings and sold positions combined.

The middle column gives you an overview of your latest activities. It shows the last 6 transactions in your portfolio.

The right column shows your top movers. Here you can view your biggest winners or biggest losers in percent.

Holdings tables

Further down you’ll find your holdings tables, grouped by asset class. Using the gear icon at the top right of each table, you can show or hide additional columns to see more or less information about your holdings.

Securities

Securities table with columns for position, price gain, dividends, realized and allocation; the three-dot menu of a holding is open with Details, New activity and Manage

Here you see all your securities: stocks, ETFs, derivatives, etc. Roughly speaking, everything that has an ISIN/WKN.

Using the three dots to the right of a holding, you can manually add new activities to it or use “Manage” to delete the holding (in German). This isn’t possible in Autosync portfolios.

Cryptocurrencies, precious metals, real estate and other assets

Holdings tables for cryptocurrencies, physical precious metals and real estate

Below the securities, other asset classes are shown, for example cryptocurrencies, precious metals (in German), real estate (in German) or other assets. You’ll find more information on these asset classes in the linked articles.

Cash

Further down you’ll find your cash holdings:

Holdings tables for other assets and cash

Here, too, you can use the 3 dots to the right of each cash holding to choose which asset classes this account should be the reference account (in German) for.

Sold holdings

At the very bottom you’ll find a section with your sold holdings. Once you’ve sold all shares of a holding, it ends up here:

Collapsed sections for sold securities and sold cryptocurrencies, shown as rows of logos

You can expand each section to get a holdings table like the one you already know from above.

Analysis

This entire section is only available with a Plus or Investor subscription

Portfolio analytics page with the tabs Allocation, Returns, Capital, Fees, Trades and Taxes

In the “Analysis” tab on the left, you can view many in-depth analyses at portfolio level. There are 6 sections:

  1. Allocation

  2. Returns

  3. Capital

  4. Fees

  5. Trades

  6. Taxes

Allocation

Allocation analysis by asset: donut chart and list of holdings with their weighting, plus the Parqet X-Ray toggle

In the allocation analysis, you see a pie chart of your holdings right at the top. You’ll find them again in the table on the right, each with its weighting. If you like, you can also break your ETFs down into their underlying holdings using Parqet X-Ray (in German).

You can view your portfolio breakdown not only by holding but also by factors such as asset class, sector, industry, region, country or type:

More allocations with the tabs Asset class, Sector, Industry, Region, Country and Type, here showing the breakdown by industry

This gives you a more detailed overview of your portfolio allocation and helps you spot possible concentrations quickly.

Returns

The “Returns” section gives you an overview of your monthly or quarterly returns. We explain how the values are calculated in the article Performance heatmap: understanding monthly, quarterly and annual returns (in German).

Return details: heatmap table of monthly returns per year and a bar chart of monthly returns

You can view the returns either in the table or as a bar chart. In both, you can switch between a monthly and a quarterly view.

Below the heatmap you’ll find the performance map (with a Plus or Investor subscription). Each holding is a tile: the larger the tile, the more weight the holding has in the portfolio. The color shows the return in the selected period, green for a gain and red for a loss. More on this: Performance map: winners and losers at a glance (in German).

Capital

The “Capital” tab gives you an overview of your capital flows. Here you can see how much capital flowed into your portfolio or was withdrawn from positions in each month:

Capital tab: capital flow table by month and year with a bar chart below

Fees

The “Fees” section shows how much your ETFs cost you in annual fees (in German). These aren’t charged separately to the reference account but are deducted automatically from the value of your shares:

Fees tab: ETF and fund fees with the TER of each holding for the past 12 months

Trades

The “Trades” section gives you an overview of your trades, meaning how much gain or loss you realized on which sales:

Trades tab: realized gains per month as a bar chart and as a table

At the top as a bar chart by month, and below it as a clear table where you can see all months at once.

Below this you’ll find another overview, sorted into winners and losers. You can sort it by time period and by absolute vs. relative return:

Top trades and loss trades, with filters for relative return, holding and time period

Taxes

The last tab contains a tax dashboard:

Tax dashboard: taxes per year by activity type and withholding tax by country

Here you can see how much tax you paid in each year, grouped by transaction type. Below that is an overview of the dividends you received by country, the taxes paid on those dividends and potential withholding tax refunds.

Activities

The “Activities” tab shows all your transactions:

Activities page with filters for sub-accounts, assets, holdings and types, and the activity list grouped by year and month

At the top left you can also filter the activities. For example, you can show only sells, hide dividends or show only the activities of a specific holding.

Dividends

The “Dividends” tab has detailed statistics on your received and upcoming dividends:

Dividend dashboard with key figures and the chart tabs Monthly (continuous), Monthly (per year), Accumulated, Accumulated (per year) and Breakdown

Here, too, you’ll find various filters at the top right to show your dividends only for certain sub-accounts or time periods.

Interest you record as an activity of type “Interest” doesn’t appear here. Distributions of type “Distribution”, for example P2P interest or rental income, do appear here.

Charts

The bar chart at the top shows your monthly dividends, with all months in sequence.

The second tab shows your received dividends grouped by month. Here you can see, for example, how your dividends in individual months developed over several years.

The next tab shows your dividends accumulated over the entire selected period, and the tab next to it shows your received dividends accumulated per year.

In the last tab, “Breakdown”, you can take a closer look at your dividends and see the dividends you received over the entire period in more detail.

Below that is a table that shows the dividends you received clearly at a glance:

Dividend table by month and year, with the returns table, announced dividends and latest payouts below

Returns table

You’ll also find a returns table like the one you know from the dashboard. It clearly shows all data on the dividends you received.

The middle column shows announced dividends, meaning dividends the company has already officially announced. Estimates based on past dividends are only shown in the dividend calendar.

The right column shows the dividends you received most recently.

Dividend assets

Below these tables you’ll see another list of holdings like on the dashboard. It includes all your holdings that received at least one dividend in the selected period:

Dividend assets table with interval, CAGR over 3 and 5 years, 1-year monthly average, yield and YoC

You can sort your holdings here by various criteria: the CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of the dividends over 3 or 5 years, your average dividend amount per month, the dividend yield and your personal dividend yield (yield on cost, YoC).

Portfolios

The “Portfolios & views” tab shows all your portfolios at a glance:

Portfolios page with one card per portfolio showing the value by asset class and buttons to import activities and open the dashboard

Here you can add activities to a portfolio manually or go to its dashboard. You also see an overview of the values of the different asset classes in each portfolio, and you can create a new portfolio (in German) at the top right. At the top left you open the Overview (in German). Under “Portfolios & views” you see all portfolios and views with their value and return.

Watchlists

In Parqet you can create several watchlists and add stocks, ETFs and other securities to them:

Watchlists page with the list of watchlists, a performance chart and the assets in the selected watchlist

You can make watchlists public, share them via link and follow other people’s watchlists. More on this: Watchlists: track, share and follow securities (in German)

News feed

The news feed shows you interesting news on various stocks at a glance:

You can also filter the news feed, for example to see only news about companies in your portfolio.

Dividend calendar

The dividend calendar shows all your payouts at a glance. You can view payouts of stocks from well-known indices such as the DAX or S&P 500, but also filter by assets in your portfolio:

Dividend calendar in year view with filters and preferences

This way you see in a calendar, either by year or by month, which companies pay dividends when:

Dividend calendar in month view with payouts per day

If you like, you can also show the payouts as a table:

Dividend calendar as a list with payment date, ex-date, interval, yield, CAGR and payout

This view only shows the months/days in which you actually received payouts.

Integrations

You can now install additional integrations in Parqet:

Parqet Integrations page with most installed integrations, new integrations and the list of all integrations

There are many options. For example, you can use the Portfolio Rebalancer (in German) to adjust your allocations in Parqet. Or you can connect your portfolio to Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity to talk about your portfolio with the AI chatbot of your choice. New integrations are added regularly, so feel free to try them out at app.parqet.com/integrations!

Financial calculators

Parqet offers several financial calculators (in German) that let you calculate, for example, your ETF savings plan (in German) or compound interest:

You’ll find detailed information on each calculator here (in German).
